Anna Silk was the first child of Peter Silk (an academic) and Ilkay Silk (a writer, actor, director, producer and professor in St. Thomas University). Anna was born in Fredericton and is the child of Peter Silk and Ilkay Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" born in Britain. Anna remembers attending the rehearsals of plays as a child as well as watching her mother at work. At the beginning of her career, Anna appeared on several commercials for television. In the month of November, 1999 Anna relocated to Toronto for the purpose of advancing her acting career, eventually making the move in Los Angeles, California, within the next decade. Anna met Seth Cooperman in 2007 at an actor's workshop held in Los Angeles, and they got engaged in the year 2009. Anna changed her religion to Judaism at the beginning of January 2011, and they renewed their vows during the Jewish wedding ceremony in Fredericton. Bo's similar-sex romance to Lauren (played by Zoie Palmer) was highlighted in the list of CNN's all-time Favorite TV Couples and named the Top TV Couple in the year 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. Anna's following on social media grew following the popularity of her television show.
