Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg was raised in Wellington and made her stage debut as Flora McGrath when she played the role in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 for Best Supporting Actress. Anna Paquin full name Anna Helene Paquin, born July 24, 1982 Winnipeg Manitoba Canada. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster for the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as the curious and sociable daughter of Holly Hunter's lead character as Holly Hunter in The Piano. As a result of a public audition, aged nineteen, she changed her name to Flora McGrath - the daughter of a Scottish muffled pianist during the 19th century who moved in New Zealand to marry an unplanned husband. As a teenager, she moved to America. Paquin was the child title in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre in the year 1996. The actress also had the lead part on the screen in Fly Away Home, a film from that same year. Paquin played a minor role in the 1997 television film version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad, she played the Spanish queen in a minor part. In addition, she was a teenager in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) and Almost Famous (2000). The actress also played the role of groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
