Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and CEO of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and TV host and also the proprietor and publisher of The Huffington Post. She moved out of Greece to England aged 16 where she earned an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. The first graduate from outside the UK to become president of The Cambridge Union at the age 21. Her popularity as a conservative journalist was further consolidated when she completed her studies. With the introduction of The Huffington Post a few months later, she launched an online voice-portal that provided critical opinions on the politics. Her fame and popularity helped to get a number of prominent contributors to share their opinions about news from the world of politics and culture. Arianna rose to fame when she made the decision to run as an independent candidate during the California recall vote to succeed then Governor Davis. Alongside this she also led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as one of the top female media personality, taking the 12th place on the list. The same year Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. AOL, Inc. named her president of their media group in 2011 following the acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post was joined by the other AOL brands like Engadget, AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli is the daughter of Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are management consultants and journalists. Although she had a close relationship with her father, the relationship she had to her mom was the defining factor in the remainder of her life. At a young age she demonstrated the leadership abilities that she is still known for. At the age of 16, she moved over in England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. As a student, she joined the Cambridge Union, a college debate group. The third female president and the first foreigner she was the president of the Cambridge Union. In 1972, she graduated with an MA in Economics. She became a writer, a critic, a TV host as well as a columnist following her graduation. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
