Taylor
Taylor Swift was a rarity in the world of pop music: she was the only celebrity to have crossed from country into the mainstream and then to be a global pop culture icon. Swift removed the influences of country as if they were an additional layer of skin. She revealed that she was one of the best singers/songwriters of her generation. Swift could make the occasion personal, or use it to her advantage. Swift's early songs, including her neo tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off her talents. But her 2008 album Fearless showcased a writer who was discovering herself and was able to draw a wide audience. The album was able to have significant reach not just in the U.S. where it racked the record with six platinum singles, on the strength of the Top Ten hits Love Story and Belong with Me Belong with Me but throughout the globe, performing especially well with Canada, the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift took off to the peak of her game with Speak Now. The next three albums she released, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) Reputation (2017), her popularity increased and she found herself in the world of pop music in which it became clear she was a part of. When she reduced her sound to the stripped-down versions of 2020, folklore, and Evermore but she was still at the top. The position was defended through re-recordings of her previous catalog, as along with Midnights the synth-based chart-topper 2022 album.
